Climate Control electrical issue
Not good guys and gals...Got in my car this morning and drove about a mile or so with the heat on during this cold April. The car had a sudden hesitation at the same time that I noted that my fan on the climate system slowed/then sped up. After a few seconds I smelled burning insulation. I immediately shut the system off but the smell of ozone (burning isulation) was overpowering. I continued to drive with no apparent problems with "drivability". About 4 hours later on my way home I tried it again and it seems that it starts okay and then must be drawing too much current or something because the smell returned and the fan went way down in speed.
My questions are whether anyone has had this problem? AND If it is burning out the wires from a short in the motor why isn't the fuse blowing instead of the wiring? Last I checked, having wiring as your "fuse/breaker" was a bad thing.
