Default Climate Control electrical issue

Not good guys and gals...Got in my car this morning and drove about a mile or so with the heat on during this cold April. The car had a sudden hesitation at the same time that I noted that my fan on the climate system slowed/then sped up. After a few seconds I smelled burning insulation. I immediately shut the system off but the smell of ozone (burning isulation) was overpowering. I continued to drive with no apparent problems with "drivability". About 4 hours later on my way home I tried it again and it seems that it starts okay and then must be drawing too much current or something because the smell returned and the fan went way down in speed.
My questions are whether anyone has had this problem? AND If it is burning out the wires from a short in the motor why isn't the fuse blowing instead of the wiring? Last I checked, having wiring as your "fuse/breaker" was a bad thing.

Have you had the TSB done on the fan (I think it's the fan - somebody will correct me)?

That was for the radiator fan, not the A/C blower.

If your under warranty take it in.
If you are out of warranty take off the bottom cover of the heater box and inspect the blower motor for foreign material.
The recall had nothing to do with the heater blower motor.
It was for the cooling fan.

Take it in! That sounds as if something foreign is cought in/on the fan motor... I took mine in because it was shorting out and they replaced the whole control unit.

Same things happened on my SRT6 ('O5), I had the control system and AC unit replaced under warranty and it fixed the issue...if only I could get the same done to the gear box.

Well the word from the dealer is that the fan motor seized and a resistor went bad. Should get it back tomorrow.
