i drained it til there was just a tiny stream coming out. my friend said it could do it forever and so i just plugged it back up. but i didn't drain it without the filter in it. i was gonna take it to the hobby shop and just start draining and checking it, probably take awhile but get it down so its not above of the MAX line.
