Default Intake / Injectors / Manifold / Internals

This ties into my previous post about the Bosch fuel injectors... I received them back via FEDEX today (Sunday) and was not delighted to see the flow rates and variances between the six injectors... But I will post that information in the original post about the fuel injectors...

During my re-install of the injectors I f'd-up and popped-off two of the "O" rings and two of the "retaining discs" which fell directly into what I surmised was the cylinders...

Needless to say, foreign objects inside the cylinder doesn't make your engine happy... So, the only way I could get them out was by doing WAY much more work than I expected and remove the topside of the engine to figure out how to remove them from where they landed... THIS PHOTO ESSAY DOES NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE, BUT THE POINT WAS THAT THE INTERNALS WERE SO DIRTY, I HAD TO CLEAN THEM... I'LL PROBABLY PULL THE REST OF THE ENGINE AFTER THIS...

directly on top of the intake valves...

I was astounded to see how much CRAP had accumulated inside the intake during 20,000 miles...
