Thanks guys,

Mike-in-Orange was right, I was just looking for something that would prevent me from having to hold the button.

I noticed that on the Smart-Top site they mentioned that the SLK roof mechanism and switch are directly connected, so maybe it is not possible.

That Smart Top controller seems to do a lot more though.
