So does anyone know if you can do it with the automatic?
What about if you had a stand alone to control the rev limiter, would that work in theory?
Well it seems the automatic doesn't have the extent of static rev issue that the manual does... I've heard stories that some people with auto's don't have problems reaching the 6,200 RPM rev limit on dyno pulls... But, I haven't personally confirmed this...
As far as increasing your rev limit from the current 6,200, there's really no advantage unless you do some major internal performance mods (cams, etc). The power and torque drop off dramatically over 5,800 RPM. So all you would be accomplishing is putting unnecessary stress on your engine internals with no gain !!!
Remember, we have a very strange engine configuration (3 valves, two intake and one exhaust) that creates a bottle neck for the exhaust gasses already... This explains most of the reasons our powerband is fairly narrow and at relatively low RPM's...
PS: You had my blood pressure going earlier... I'm glad you fessed-up.
