On 2004 models there is a small black plastic power distribution block in front of the battery that has three or four wires coming out of it. I believe it is mounted to the strut tower. The top snaps open and all you have to do is remove the wire that is labeled hydraulic unit (traction). Its one of the wires in the middle. You need a small socket to remove it.

Do this at your own risk.

I've had it off for a few weeks with no ill effects other than the warning lights on the dash. This will allow you to dyno your xfire if you like. With the wire disconnected I hit 6200RPM in every gear before shifts. Its definately more fun and will allow you to drift the car through corners, powerbrake,etc.... Now if someone would find out how to make the tranny hold gears that would really be fun. I'm sure you could toggle the wire, but I prefer to just keep it off. I grew up without ABS so its not a big deal not to have it. Let me know how this works for your manual crossfire as mine is an automatic.

Locate the ABS / Stability Management fuses using that.

And in my '07 they were the only 40 amp fuses in the box.

Also... I only had to pull #17 to disable it. #18 stopped my brake lights from working. Couldn't have that.
infinite said replacing his #17 turned his break lights back on. i pulled only 17 on my car and lost my lights. perhaps you have the two mixed up in this post? i'm going to try to pull #18 only today and see what happens. mine's an 06 though.

^ Very possible that I made a mistake in that post.

However, I DO know that my ABS and Stability Management warning lights are on (right side of cluster) and my brake lights still work.

The issue with dynoing is hitting 6200 RPM with the front wheels stationary.

You can leave the fuses in and hit 6200 RPM when you're driving down the road.

If I power brake the car I can get the rear wheels turning 80 plus mph with the front wheels stationary and it dosen't shift until 6200 into 2nd and third. Thats all I know. Haven't dynoed it yet but I was thinking I shouldn't have any problems. Maybe someone will try it and see.

it appears that pulling only 18 is key. i did it, with working break lights and lost a little rubber in doing so. it didn't break loose and hold as long as i wanted, but i had my cousin in the car with me. we're both over 200lbs so the car had to work a little bit harder than normal. i think i'm leaving it out until i see an issue arrise. there appears to be no limit on my rpm either. full red line through 2nd in my manual. 3rd gear the car just ran out of power and couldn't get more than a hard clutch pop. i'll be sure to do some sideways driving tomorrow with less weight in the car.
