One of these days when I have time I'm going to track the going prices of older but comparable sports cars to the SRT-6. What I have in mind are cars like the 300ZX, RX-7 turbo, Supra turbo, Dodge Stealth turbo (along with the Mitsubishi 3000). These cars are all around 10 - 15 years old, have similar horsepower, had about the same increase in hp over their base versions, and were marketed as premier models. I'm not up on '92 - '02 Camaros and Firebirds/Trans ams but believe there were several specialty models that are comparable? Cobra Mustangs also look like good candidates. And the Prowler should be included also. Anyone have other cars to add?

What I would like to do is determine an average value for comparable sports cars over time, the effect of mileage on values, possibly what features help/hurt values, and see if maybe there is a wow factor that comes into play. Then this can be plugged into the SRT-6 and maybe, just maybe a somewhat accurate guessimate can be made of the future value of the 6.

Unfortunately by the time I get around to doing this the SRT-6 will be 10 years old and all we would have to do is check the used car ads for the going price.
