IF the failure mode on these IC aux. pumps is the motor winding opening up, this should be a straightforward diagnosis: a resistance check of the motor winding from the terminals on the pump while disconnected. This ain't rocket science. The trick is to get them to believe the pump is most likely the problem and do the check. Charge temperature variation is most likely the reason for the intermittent nature of the failure.
