What kind of wheels did you go with? I'm surprised to hear that you can still break traction with 285's and softer springs. Maybe the short wheel base doesn't help either when it comes to rear end traction.
My wheels are Stern Hyper Mesh II with 9.5 on the rear & 8.5 on front. The tire's are Michelin pilot sport PS2's 285/35/19 on rear & 245/35/18 on front.
