Instead of trying to park alone at the far end of the lot, I try to find someone else who has already done that to protect their ride, then park near (but not close) to them on the driver's side of their car.

I figure that someone else who has parked remotely to protect their car will respect my car AND that two cars parked remote but near each other don't draw the attention of those as*h**es that like to park their sh**boxes right on top of a nice ride.
