It could also be that you are over-rotating the steering wheel and hitting the internal or external stops too aggressively.
I have no idea how bad it is or if we're just over reacting to the sound of the wheel topping out on the stops.
It may be normal unless you I can get a sound file on here so that we can hear what's really going on.
