If the SB does not add HP or Torque - how can the acceleration be quicker?

How did the SB change the shifting, which is controlled by the ECU?

Would you say that the SB has just shortened (compressed) your gas pedal, making your XF a little more "squirrelly", and now you are driving a little more aggressively?
