So do Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties. More and more are popping up all the time and fire fighting resources are stretched beyond the limit. In some areas the winds are so severe that neither fixed wing nor helicopter water dropping aircraft can be utilized. Near Lake Arrowhead today there are whole neighborhoods burning to the ground. I'm one of the lucky ones - the Orange County fire may only be about 7 ~ 8 miles away from me, but it's moving in the opposite direction.
