*Hack*, *Hack*, *Cough*, *Cough*. Nothing like getting home off vacation to smoke filled skies and a scorched landscape.

The firemen (and women) did their usual outstanding jobs - the whole area really dodged a gigantic bullet again.

Last I heard was that 1,700 home were destroyed but don't know from what city. Last fire we had burnt around 400 homes in San Diego proper but destroyed another 2,500 out in the countryside. This one could be worse and we'll just have to wait for the damage to be assessed to know for sure.
