I still have a question, what retains the new radio (Pioneer) in the console when it's installed?
Does it snap into the DIN frame the same as the original equipment?
I am hoping for a completely reversable installation.
Thanks.
All single din units come with a cage. This cage is made out of thin aluminum. It has universal tabs to be pressed down into the area of the dash. Once secured, you slide the radio unit into the cage. It will lock into place. To remove, use the supplied security keys.
Yes, the cage and radio can be removed. Use a harness adapter kit so you don't have to hack into the factory wires. Then it would be a snap to go back to the factory deck.
Remove deck > disconnect harness > disconnect antenna > remove cage> attach power to stock deck > attach antenna > push back into place.
