Re: SRT6 Engine Transplant
Alright, before I post what I was going to, I have to answer the post from MAYAMAN... The mechanics of the swap are relatively simple if you are taking the SRT6 engine and installing it into a Auto Trans or 6spd... You will have to change / add some parts for the IC / SC, but it's a bolt-on and you will need to upgrade your clutch, otherwise you'll be replacing it every 10,000 miles for a regular driving car... (IMHO)
As LantanaTX stated, and as he and I have discussed over the phone, the electronics are going to be the nightmare for a daily driver car and will cost you more time and money than what the engine costs... I would guess that you're going to pay $5,000 +++ to get the additional new sensors and electronics to work... IF you can find someone in your area that can do the job... Otherwise, my guess is that you will have to ship the car to the people that LantanaTX is digging-up... So, that would mean Florida for the Renntech work, and Colorado for the Kleeman work... Unless they have distributors / installers in your area...
That's all I have to say about this subject, because I think LantanaTX has done more research on how to achieve the electronics for a daily driver... I have it EASY, I'm a track car that doesn't need anything working except for the engine systems / gauges and brake lights, with the functionality of adjusting tuning parameters from my laptop while I'm at the track... Heck, that's about all that's in the car anyway...
