I was born in America. That makes me a native. Just because my ancestors have been here a few thousand years less than others ancestors does not lessen nor negate my native status. My ancestors also happen to have come from Europe. Is this any different from others ancestors that came from the Asian landmass thousands of years ago?
You are absolutely right, and I don't challenge what you're saying. But in keeping with the spirit of the question; Our ethnic background is what was asked. Of course we're all Americans either by birth or naturalization.
