I want to thank everybody who contributed to this thread. After checking out the looks of the photos of XFires with grills painted to match the body colors, I was motivated to take the plunge and change my grill color.

I used a spray can of factory match color (inferno red) and a can of clear coat lacquer. The grill looks much better than the grey factory setup. I did retain the factory silver color on the leading edge of three horizontal grill slats instead of going with the vinyl chrome as many have done.

Except for all the hand rubbing on the clear coat that had to be done, the project wasn't too difficult. I wish I would have had a little better weather (warmer) and more daylight hours, but in summary everything worked out fine. The front of the car has a more finished look to it now.
