If you look at the Mercedes 299.5 page you will see all the oils that fall into this range---there are many oils that meet the 299.5 criteria, some not for sale in North America but it still offers a lot of options, the listers that say 0/40 is the only oil for our cars do not understand the 299.5 spec and what oils meet it, the range is small but it allows up to 10/40 and if you investigate you can find diesel synthetic that is better than std synthetic----more Boron in diesel, good for bearing life]
]There are many web page of oil investigation, I run 15/40 Diesel syn in all my other vehicles, 03 Focus, 2000 Dakota R/T and 98 Sportster 1200 Sport -no problems in over 110,000 miles on the Dakota

as to the Crossfire I will defer to the list in the oil selection and stay away from any 15+ combinations
