Re: Crossfire Trailert Hitch?
I have seen a crossfire with a small hitch to pull a trailer for race tires on this site in the past. The guy had shifted to a single tip exhaust and moved it to one side to allow for the hitch to be in the center. It met the need but was not for me. I intend to bolt up a light weight hitch that wraps under the exhaust with a tie point on each side of the exhaust and a U shaped bar and ball assembly. It will be used to pull under 400lbs (less the 40lb of tong weight) combined trailer, tires and tools for autocross. Less then the maximum listed load rating of the owners manual and easier on the suspension and interior then overloading the trunk.
To me; buying a car trailer and beater truck is a waist of time and money. I don't need the cost of truck, insurance, maintainance, dealing with break downs on the way to the track, space issues at the track and the hassle of loading and unloading the car. It's much easier to use a tire trailer; quick, light, no space requirements and meets my need.
