Default Re: Who has out run the cops?

Jaded,
Thank you for you polite response, but the issues you raised do not match you initial assumptions:

You claim everyone misunderstood your question and believe you condone high speed chases. The title of your thread was "Who has outrun the cops?" not who has avoided, slipped away from, snuck off from, hide from. It was run from. I don't see how that can be misunderstood.
I am sorry you have negative feelings toward law enforcement officers, many do, but one of the things this job has taught me is not to judge anything until I have as many facts as possible. The situations you described are all plausible.
I can tell you as far as the issuance of any ticket or warrant I have done, I have done with a clean conscience. You sound as if cops created the laws we enforce and we just sit around thinking new ones up. Your lawmakers created the law and you are obliged to follow them. If you choose not to follow them that is on you, not me for enforcing the laws. The fact that people get tickets is not the fault of law enforcement. The ticket is for breaking a law passed by our lawmakers. If you don't like the ticket, your lawmakers have also created a court system for you to air your side of the story. People will always have "cop issues" try riding with one for a while before you judge.
As far as the speeding issue in my personal car, I feel I drive as safely as most and if I am issued a ticket I will take resposibility for my actions and not blame the cop who issued it.
Also I have no idea what you do for a living but I am sure there is a derogatory name for it. I wonder if you like it being used?
I am thankful we have a forum to air these issues and perhaps we can learn from each other.
