It was my daily driver for a little over a year until I recently purchased the SRT-6. Engines are built to much higher standards today as compared to just 10 years ago and a AMG s/c motor is not something to be afraid of quality wise. Do you know what "SRT" stands for? It stands for Street and RACING Technology.............these cars were built to be rode hard and put away wet.
lol with the exception of the srt-4 with it's brass parts in the transmission, sychros goin out often, other misc transmission problems and the other mess of problems they have. (I never had any problems with my old one but all my friends with them did.) it was built to be rode hard and put away broken lol j/k ... seriously though I wouldn't go by the "SRT" (since "racing" supposedly voids the warranty lol) but I would think the AMG engine would be pretty stout. .... does anybody know if we have forged pistons, rods, or crank?.... I bet the limiting factor will be in the rear end, axles, maybe tranny?? and I have heard of people putting too small of a pulley on cobras, overworking the s/c, and ruining it. Not sure how far our s/c can be pushed.... also has anybody ported our s/c... I know cobra owners are getting a lot of hp out of good port jobs... ok that's my random thoughts... later
