Id say the single most important factor like any modded forced induction car...is the tune.

I too am curious how much further we can push the s/c, and still keep it reliable for us daily drivers.
I split the stock block on a 5.0L mustang with 450 at the rear wheels (lotsa boost ). I know the 5.0L block is good up to about 500 at the flywheel, then you start 'risking' it.

I don't think I have heard of any major internal failures on any of the modded C32's and SLK32's, let alone the SRT...but then again I haven't seen anyone running a lot of power through them either.

After looking at the rear axle on these things, that would be my first concern. It is tiny!

You right the axles are tiny, as is the diff. At least theres a flex disk in the drivesahft, and the auto tranny should help reduce the shock.

MBworld guys? HDDP? Anyone?
I just ran across this thread and did some quick calculations on the SRT6 injectors... Since they are 51lb injectors (huge) they would deliver enough fuel on an engine up to 650 hp without going lean. I would definately run a dyno with AFR after installing the pulley just to make sure you aren't running lean and going to cook the pistons...

I will do that - should have the pulley next week.

Any suggestions on a dyno shop in So Cal (SF valley is best) that can also data log our cars? I want to send the data and ECU in for tune after pulley install? There is a local Vette shop that has a dyno and can do AFR readings with sensor clipped on the tail pipe.

Thanks

BTW - the dealer is installing a new injector in the #2 cylinder next week.
I plan to install the pulley with the stock ECU and then possibly send ECU and data in for a tune.

I didn't realize you were in the SFV... Howdy neighbor.... I'll get you a list of dyno shops that are NASA / SCCA approved that way you can be sure they are calibrated ...

SFV is about 30 miles north - I am actually in VTA county - Camarillo to be exact.

But both of my grandfathers were in the movie business way back when (black & white days) and they both settled here - I tried to leave but keep coming back.

Thanks for the input

Looks my 185mm pulley setup will arrive sometime next week - I hope to install that weekend - then I would like to get to a dyno/tuner

Thanks for the help

Send an email to Dr. Greg Greenbaum at this address and ask him if there are any NASA approved DYNO's in your area... He will recommend... fordtraitor2003@yahoo.com

Here's a good link for dyno... I found out that NASA uses "7's Race Shop" at Buttonwillow Raceway for compliance.

I received the 185mm Pulley last Thursday. There were some things I had to work out with LET and I can say that Erick stepped up and worked the issues out with me. Most of these issues were out of mine and Erick's control and had more to do with his manufacturer.

With that said, let me say that the pulleys are fine, and are actually a very impressive bit of engineering. I had expected something in the lines of an ASP or Evosport pulley; having seen them in pictures. But it is obvious that some time and thought went into this pulley and it's not something the average shop with a lathe and mill can fab up and bang out.

I hope to install next weekend - I have found a Dyno/Tuner that tunes MB's so I will hook up with them one day the following week to get tuned and I will post the results. I still need to take my SRT back to the dealer next week for a few minor issues while it's under warranty and prior to installing the pulleys. Or else I would be in the garage wrenching right now. (I had to work today)

Here are some pictures and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

They look good don't they? I have put many miles and 45+ 1/4 mile passes on mine.

Good luck and let me know if I can assist in any way.

Here are some install pics from last August. We installed the pulley, ported sc, he, ported ic, etc.

Get ready for some serious cooling...

Brian,

Thank you for the update and including the great pics. I really appreciate it.
The pulley looks like a well designed and well made piece. Your car should be screaming after the install.

With this pulley, CAI, cooling mods and a good tune we should start seeing some 11.9X times. Add the cams and 11.XX should be NO problem. I for one am very excited and hope to commit to purchasing a few big mods like this within the next month.

Thanks again for sharing and good luck with the tune! Keep us posted!

Cheers,
KrzyFast
