I don't think I have heard of any major internal failures on any of the modded C32's and SLK32's, let alone the SRT...but then again I haven't seen anyone running a lot of power through them either.
After looking at the rear axle on these things, that would be my first concern. It is tiny!

You right the axles are tiny, as is the diff. At least theres a flex disk in the drivesahft, and the auto tranny should help reduce the shock.
