Could you post a pic of your battery so I can see exactly how it looks? If you are talking about the thick bundle going into the large black box. That is a wire bundle. I would not move that. If your battery is that close to that bundle of wire I would think you would have enough room to insert the plug into the battery with the use of a pair of needle nose pliers. To state the obvious, becareful not to drop the plug behind the battery.
