In certain cases I think matte paint looks pretty good - that Lambo Reventon would probably be hot no matter what color you did or did not paint it! I've seen some hot rods in various matte colors and they all looked pretty cool. My understanding though is that if you get a simple scratch in the paint you can't just polish it out like you do with a high gloss base coat/clear coat finish because you'll actually start to add gloss in the area you polish. Not necessarily a high gloss like most cars, but a higher level of gloss than the rest of the car. That would stand out like a sore thumb.

I'd give it some more time before comitting to it on the entire car. Certain accents would be cool though, like the two chevron style stripes that forum member former NXMX5 has HERE or racing stripes on other cars.
