Talking Soon-to-be New Crossfire Owner here!

Hey guys, I'm obviously new to this forum and probably the only one who doesn't have a Crossfire currently. However... that is all going to change here in hopefully the next six months! I've always liked the Crossfire ever since I saw it (the coupe especially). Life moved on though, things happened and my attention shifted away from cars to higher education.

Recently, while leaving the local cinemaplex, my once-silver 1990 Volvo with 220K miles sputtered, jolted and died barely a quarter from the theater; right in front of a used car dealership. I was pretty frustrated but while waiting for the tow truck to show, I walked over to the lot and just started to cruise around; hands in pockets, feeling pretty bitter about how much repairs were going to cost me on my wagon. Then I saw them!

Three near-mint condition Crossfires lined up, recently washed and just seeming to smile at me. All with price points below 18K too. Instantly my love affair with the car came rushing back! The first one, a white 2005 Coupe was unlocked so I took a seat and closed the door. Not only did I fit well (im about 6'3"), I really thought the interior was nice and the seats, very comfortable. I wasn't able to take it for a test drive that day but it was a real eye-opener as before, I thought the cars would be priced a lot higher.

Granted, 18K is still high for me being a student and all, but 15K would be manageable. I've already got about $3000 in savings dedicated for the downpayment on a car. I plan on saving up until at least $5k before I go out and seek financing but I KNOW the car i'm going to get will be the Crossfire Coupe! Now its only a matter of time.

I figure that even with the higher insurance rate and financing of about 8K or so, it will be a lot more affordable than just pouring my money into the Volvo. I'm not joking when I say I spent $1000 on it in December and $1300 on it in January just in rainy day repair costs. That cut into my savings really badly.

Anyways, I hope to make some friends here and learn a lot from you guys about the car!

Peace!
