No, no, no. It would be the temp of the FLUID. If you've been driving for more than 30 minutes, the fluid temp should be...hot (~80)
If you walk out in the morning and you experience extreme shrinkage
the fluid temp should be...cold. (~20).
I think (I haven't checked) that the fluid is supposed to be warmed-beween 20 and 80 deg C.
