So much of this 'bad press' is simply because the idiot media has heard that it may be possible, at the energies the Collider can produce, to create mini-black holes which, of course, could SWALLOW THE WHOLE EARTH!
Of course, the mini-holes (that sounds dirty for some reason) wouldn't last for more than a nanosecond or so but that doesn't matter because it's particle physics, a mysterious domain for nearly every layman.
I'm mondo excited about this; maybe with this collider we can put to rest some of the true mysteries of the sub-atomic world & quantum physics.
Then again, IT COULD BE THE END OF THE WORLD !
