Regarding the oil level - did you check it when the car was level, also, check when the engine is cold. If my memory serves me right, I think the HI indication comes on when there is about 1 quart too much oil. Probably in the manual - check there first.
Yes I checked the oil while car level.
How would the oil amount grow since the change 2800 miles ago? I haven't added any to it and the indicator never came on prior to today.
