I've read all of the posts and I may be dense cause there is something I don't understand. It is said that the wrong part was sent, however, TVT says it will fit and there are slight differences, but it will fit. Now, was the correct part sent and the mechanic unable to install it or did he/she just look at it and say hummm.... it doesn't look right so I had better take apart the new replacement part to make it look the same before I attempt to physically place it on the car? If it was the correct shipment, why didn't the mechanic just put the part in place and then they would have seen it did indeed work?
I'm not going to get into the right/wrong issue but it seems to me the mechanic plays a role in the disassembly of this new thermostate.
