Thumbs up Re: SL55 Setup Fact, Fiction or Matter of Opinion?

A simple and easy test is to unbolt the cover plate at the wye to allow all the air in the world to your motor and do one run. I tried this once and was convinced that the intake was a serious restriction. Now have a needswings inlet. BEWARE the sound is narcotic and solid, but the throttle is crisp as hell. Now put the cover back on to reconnect the air filteration system.

To insure that the engine has a cooler time of it I have taken off the hood blanket and the rubber gasket that goes between the radiator shell and hood. This allows more heat to be radiated and more air into the engine compartment, giving a cooler environment and more rapid cool down when parked "off".

PS the LET phenolic inlet gaskets are of benefit also.
