You strip out the crank and you're looking at a 6K+ plus repair bill.
It's definately a job for someone that's mechanically inclined and has the tools necessary to complete the job properly.
As far as the guy with the 2.5 hour pulley swap quote goes,mechanics don't get paid "actual time" they get paid "flat rate".................that's how you make money.
Actual time=19 minutes
Flat rate= 2.5 hours
The only reason I can do mine so fast is because I'm familiar with the (M-B)cars, have all the tools and know the shortcuts to take(ex; not completely removing the serpentine belt).
I could see how some "techs" could struggle on the job if not familiar with how benzos are put together.
