After 42 years on the road, I guess you will need a little time to feel comfortable with the new mirror settings.

I only have about 10 years on the road, and I started this new mirror settings last year when I got the crossfire as the rear view is so bad. It took me a little while to get used to the new setting, to feel confidence of the actual position and distance of other cars in the mirrors.
