With a car as different as ours everyone wants to be near to see it in person. I try to use commen sense when parking. Always way out in the lot, protecting one side by the end stall our cart storage, cheating on the safe side and never parking next to a two door car or truck. It still doesn't stop the those that are inattentive but helps.

I have also designed a protection system using the cheap foam float tubes used in swimming pools. I completely surround the car with a ring of these tubes which act much like the floats that hang off of a boat used for docking. By trimming the ends I have found they easily push into one another and stay place. Looks a little funny but quickly identifys the car as one to avoid.
