My girlfriend just dosen't seem to understand. She's from the Chicago-land area. I'm from central Indiana. She just doesn't get why I'm parking at the back of the lot when there are "perfectly good" parking spaces right next to the van (with a billion kids), or next to the junker with the hood held down with bungie cords. I try to tell her, that it's a beautiful car without any door dings, and I wanna keep it that way and she just replies "Calm down, it's just a car."

Just a car? That's like saying "That's okay, we can leave them at the park. They're just your kids." Course, I don't have any kids or it might be "just a car".
