Right now we are at the point where everyone of these has to be hand made there is no machine available to just bust these out for less then 5k. If you have taken your center apart you will quickly see the clips on the reverse side are almost impossible to re manufacture hence the core charge. Second like RC said this isnt some best buy double din install kit were talking completely custom. Right now that price is just an estimate if we can figure out a way to do it cheaper trust me you guy will get them cheaper. I cant not stress enough the minimal and i mean minimal margin we would be making at $500 a piece. I have over 50 hours into just this lower piece and am yet to get it right, even when I do finally get it right to reproduce it will still be roughly 20 hours a piece and that doesn't include the time I will have to take to do the center surround. Then feel free to factor in sanding time, paint, sanding, and shipping. You do the math

I dont want to trash this project because of a few members, and its great to hear opinions but to make comment that we are trying to cheat or even make a killing off these is so far from the truth it hurts.
