They do have individual circuits, with a cross-over. You can separate them fairly easily with the addition of a dedicated IC reservoir/overflow tank. The Benz guys have done this for awhile, with excellent results. BrianBrave seems to like it as well.

I don't have my modded t-stat yet, but LET adjusted the computer to make the fans come on earlier. Be careful not to make it too cold, or you will trigger a CEL when it takes too long to go into closed-loop. What is your target temp?
