My first observation on my '04 was that the factory system lends itself to fabricating two pipes from the secondary cats to a muffler with 2 intakes, and eliminating the Y pipe altogether.
It seems intuitive to me that 2 exhaust pipes can double the volume of gases expelled.

I looked into getting a setup like yours installed here in Sunny East Alabama and couldn't find:
A. anyone I would trust within 25 feet of my car and
B. anyone who could do mandrel bending for less than $30 per bend (!).
I went with the $350 Magnaflow for the ease and price.
Oh, and the GREAT sound.
