removing the k&n filter will slow the car down on our intake! we tried, lost 10mph for several runs in a row, put the filter back on and she was quick again. we do pull the grill (1 minute) to increase the airflow to the filter when at the track, but the filter needs to stay on!
Yes he did pull his filter, I was there. I couldn't believe he would want to take the risk of sucking something into his S/C. All three of us with SRT 6's there pulled out our lower grills to try to get more air to our HE's later in the day. The weather was not a good for racing, low 80's and the air just felt thick. He was claiming a 12.2 run with a 1.5 60ft too, but the left lane was having some trouble. I really don't think he ran the 12.2, here's one of my slips from running in the left lane right after he done the 12.2 run. I think he pulled the filter to try to get another 12.2 run, I could claim to be first into the 10's
