Yep, here's a photo of the hardwired setup. The only thing that's "hard wired" is the power cable. The detector itself is removable from both window and power.

I still don't like the fact that the detector has to be on the window, but I guess that's something that I have to live with for now.

I didn't buy the V1 for all the times I drive at the speed limit. I bought the V1 for those times that I have to go over the limit, for brief periods of time, like passing large trucks, unsafe drivers, entry onto the highway, etc. While those sound normal to most people, I found (the expensive way) that the Crossfire just attracts more attention than other cars.

btw - psuperti, aren't radar detectors illegal on military bases? I can't remember.
