They are not street legal, but I asked one of the tech's at Hoosier tire if it would cause excess wear on them to drive 30 mile's to a track round trip and he said no it would not. He said he could not legally tell me that they were safe to drive on the road, but if I choose to just don't make fast turns or run high rate's of speed. I've only been to the track once and I hauled the tire's & put them on when I got there. I'm in the same boat as you, closest 1/4 mile track around 2 hour drive. There is an 1/8th about 15 mile's from me witch I do plan on going to in the fall when I have some time.
