I see 17lbs with my Code 3. I have seen 22lbs with the 185 in other cars. The trade off is HEAT!!!!

Unfortunately mods do not add up like that, a cai by itself may give you 30 peak hp more and a pulley may give you 40 peak hp on its own but stacking mods like that does not work. You may be getting a total of 50 or 55hp max on top of your stock hp numbers. Do some research online and on some other forums and you will see this to be oh so true. If only cars were that efficient lol.

First off no one bases their numbers off of the crank...wheel horse power is a lot more impressive.

Secondly, you would be lucky to see 340 whp with those mods due to the efficiency the engine could work at with pure bolt ons.

but the thing to also consider is since the supercharger is getting more boost it will suck more air in so the CAI will probably create more power than if it was by itself. how much more i am not sure

Thumbs up Re: 20% Off Code3 Products

Pulley and intake were in my hands this morning at 10:00AM. I installed the Code3 intake to the plenum this evening as it's already out of the car. I am currently running a trimmed BDJ intake with two K&N filters. I have a pretty nice little Wednesday planned, I'm um, I'm gonna go to Home depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed Bath and Beyond. I don't know. I don't know if I'll have enough time to install the pulley.

A little foreskin warning. Check to make sure your screws that came with the Code3 intake don't have burs on the end of them. I had to re-thread one of the holes as it ate the plastic. Nothing a little Gel Super Glue couldn't fix.

I don't disagree with you, but I think you're taking my original post a bit out of context, it wasn't a pissing contest about accurate HP figures, just a little humor.

Either way, we're still looking at around 400 or so chp, which is decent in my book. If I need to spank something bigger, my RT/10 will handle it

I went with this pulley because over the winter I am debating an E85 converion or just to run the car on 100oct next year and stack pulleys (178mm most likly). And obviously a few mod mods to keep the inake charge cool and get the car down to Jerry for a tune.

Yeah I know what you mean, I just break out my Bughatti Veyron or my Twin turbo C6 Z06 or my Porsche Cayman when those situations arise. If I am feeling frisky I may break out my Lambo Zagato Raptor or my Koenigsegg CC. Just to be silly I would say my mods on those cars all stacked together would equal around 6,891.3 horsepower, at the crank of course

Just kidding!

Anyway, if we can all get back to reality I think without a significant upgrade to the cooling system that a 185 pulley is not going to get you any better times, possibly worse times than the 178mm or code3 pulley.

TOM2112 I see you picked up on the humor. Did you catch the Old School quote?

I want to say thanks to Brandon at Code3 for the 20% off and for giving me a killer deal on the intake and shipping. The pulley was installed in the car this morning. I like the extra supercharger sound. Also, I can tell a hp difference from the push back in the seat.

Nice.
My fave: True love is hard to find. Sometimes you think you have true love and then you catch the early flight home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded . . . . .
Love Old School.

Do you plan to get a tune? I got a custom tune from inmotion on mine, it is not necessary but it helps.

Freak, even if you exhaust comes out very good you should still work on getting a tune eventually. It will bring out the best of you mods and the engine. Have fun and good luck.

Ok I had a little time on my side this morning. I swapped out my BDJ twin tube intake with my 100% discounted CODE3 intake ( Thanks Brandon ). It took all of 10 minutes to swap.
Maybe the ECU needs a bit to reset but the BDJ seems a little stronger off the bottom end. I still have the stock AMG filters as I just bought it with 11k miles on it. Maybe some sun dried K&N filters will help.
My BDJ has two K&N filters on the end instead of the Greddy style mushroom filters. I know they dynoed the BDJ around 26hp. The only drawback to the K&Ns is my car sounds like it's wearing head gear. Nice whistle.
The CODE3 pulley with the BDJ intake was very stong. There was no lag to the boost onset.
I'll cruise around in the 60 degree temps in the morning to see if the new intake picks up a little.

A Tune is next to come along with an exhaust.
