Well, I got hit with my first laser on Friday , up near the intersection of 494 and 94. I was just cruising along and driving at the limit with cruise control. The police car was parked up against a concrete riser on the side of the highway and shooting cars as they drove up on the highway.

The valentine picked up the laser about a quarter of a mile away, and just went straight into 5-bar alert mode. I ended up hitting the brakes anyway out of habit In the dark without overhead lighting, the police car was invisible. If I didn't know I was being hit and I ended up speeding _after_ he hit me with lidar, then he would probably have shot me again and pulled me over!

On another note, the local constable randomly blasted me with radar as we were both stopped at a 4-way intersection! I guess he must have been testing the radar or something. I gave him a smile and a wave as he drove by. I really like my local PD, they are good people (a few of them even live in my neighborhood).
