what's the obsession with burning rubber anyways? I can turn off the TC and easily slide the car around corners safely with out this silly modification.
B.S. I have no teenage obsession with burning rubber, nor do I have an unfulfilled fantasy to do donuts at my neighborhood K-Mart parking lot.
What I do have is a desire to be able to get my car to do what I ask of it, when I ask it, and not have "Big Brother" making my driving decisions for me.
On three different occasions over the past 3 years of ownership, my car (thanks to the "black box" over riding my throttle input") has almost got me wiped out (by on coming traffic) because the car decided to go into "limp" mode at the most inopportunistic moment, simply because the rear tires broke loose ever so slightly. Possibly, the TC on the 04's (like mine) is a little more sensitive than the 05's, plus mine is a 6 spd.
After disconnecting the center wire and losing the ABS/TC, my car hasn't shut itself down once. It's a much more "fun" car to drive now, and I can actually break the rear end loose when ever I want to.
I don't drive it in the winter, and only in the rain when I get caught in a storm unexpectedly. I've never been a big fan of anti-lock brakes, and actually have had more close calls in some GM cars that had them, than any car that I've owned that didn't.
I'm not recommending that anybody disconnect their ABS/TC like I did, but for me it was the right thing to do.
