Got around to stripping the engine apart. Our test engine suffered some serious issues during its life. Crank siezed and 5 rods are bent really bad, 5 of the 6 pistons also have the rings fused in.
We weighed them and the stock piston and rod combo averages about 1000g without bearings, but with rings. They are actually pretty light, mostly due to the design. We are looking to keep the weight under 1000g with our larger forged pistons. That's basically all of the progress thus far.
As we delve deeper we'll report back.
