MB Dealer wanted 6 hrs labor at $90/hr. You can DIY only if you are familiar with turning a wrench and have some past experience with engine/header removal. There's a lot of things that need to be removed in order to do the job right. I filled up a dozen plastic bags with assorted bits and pieces before getting down to a point where the SC could be removed. It's not rocket science and you can really gain a good appreciation for the engineering that has gone into this engine package.
You will need a good set of E-8,10,12 torque sockets plus T-15, 20, 30 torque drivers. You will also need a set of long extension torque drives (T-40 and T-45...AutoZone $20). No other special tools are required. I pulled the fuel rail and if you do that, you should get a replacement set of injector o-rings, plus the intake gaskets already talked about. I had to separate the Intercooler from the SC but you won't have to do that if just adding Lower Phenolic Spacers (LPH).
