I'm not trying to argue here, but I just want to bring up an important point on this law. It DOES NOT protect you from the dealer voiding warranty. The dealer can always void the warranty. In fact, they can say you're too ugly so that is what ruined your interior, or something like that.

What the law does is gives you a right to sue them in court if their reason for warranty void really is unacceptable. So the question becomes... Who actually takes the dealer to court? It costs money, and takes time, and if they fight back considerably then you'll need a lawyer which is more time and more money. Soon you're over the price of the repairs AND you may end up losing anyways.

So remember, the law DOES NOT protect you unless you enforce it in a court. If you're like everyone else, including me, then what the dealer says is final. Besides some griping and complaining, 99% of people will not take it as far as court.

So be careful when thinking the law is all you need....

On another note, and I know this will sound bad.... I do not think the OP is entitled to anything from the dealer he bought it from. The reason is the car really does have a warranty just like the dealer said it did. its not their call to say if Chrysler will or will not honor that warranty. Theoretically speaking, there are many parts on the car the dealer will still warranty, regardless of mods. The independant dealer really did nothing wrong, even if it was a little malicious if they knew the car was modded.

Like I said before, the OP is probably in good shape anyways and shouldn't worry.
