Re: Supercharged Hood
What exactly are the "vents" for?
To introduce cool air into the intake?
To place cold air "over" a heat exchanger?
To let "hot" air escape the engine bay?
Purely cosmetic?
I've never looked under the hood of any Mercedes, or Jag that had them so I really don't know there actual purpose.
Because if it's to introduce cool air into the intake, then it would probably not work as well as the factory design simply because there is at least 1" of "dead air" that envelopes the whole body of the car as it's moving. The vents would only allow the engine to "suck" cool outside air into the supercharger, as opposed to the stock design that actually offers some "ram air" effect.
As an exhaust vent, it would probably work just fine.
If it's purely cosmetic, then it boils down to what ever floats your boat.
